About

Hello, my name is Adam Black. I was born and raised in Corry, Pennsylvania, a small community in the northwestern corner of the state. Throughout my life, I have focused on continuous learning and have driven myself to grow both personally and professionally.

I attended Corry Area High School and graduated in the summer of 2010. After graduating, I enlisted in the United States Air Force, where I served for six years in various roles and locations. My duty stations included Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson near Anchorage, Alaska. During my time in the Air Force, I achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as a Senior Emergency Actions Controller and Training Manager. In these roles, I oversaw daily operations of installation command centers, monitored and coordinated flight and support operations, and ensured the readiness and performance of the personnel under my supervision.

After completing my enlistment in January 2017, I returned to Pennsylvania and attended Penn State Behrend. While studying there, I applied for and was offered a position with the Pennsylvania State Police. I began my training at the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in June 2019, and I worked for the PA State Police for approximately five years. During my time in law enforcement, I held the position of Patrol Trooper and then Criminal Investigations Trooper. This experience placed me in many complex, often high-pressure situations, where clear thinking, quick decision-making, and careful analysis were crucial. I conducted numerous investigations, authored legal documents including search warrants and criminal complaints, and testified in court proceedings. Managing multiple complex investigations simultaneously while upholding accuracy and thoroughness helped me to refine my organizational skills, analytical thinking, and strengthened my capacity to perform decisively under pressure.

Throughout my military and law enforcement careers, I developed skills in leadership, adaptability, and critical thinking. Whether coordinating emergency responses or conducting investigations, clear communication, structured decision-making, and strong team dynamics were always essential.

Outside of work, I am passionate about the outdoors. Activities such as camping, hiking, hunting, and boating allow me to appreciate nature, recharge, and spend meaningful time with family and friends. During the winter months, I serve as an assistant coach for a local youth swim team, working with young athletes ranging from ages 5 to 18. Coaching has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me, as it gives me the opportunity to help others build confidence and discipline in achieving their goals.

Looking ahead, I am eager to leverage my professional experience along with my Management Information Systems degree to transition into the technology field. My background in law enforcement and the military has provided me with a strong foundation in structured problem-solving, operational systems, and decision-making under pressure. I am enthusiastic about applying these skills in the technology sector, where I can contribute to solving complex business challenges, optimizing systems, and driving organizational success through thoughtful, data-informed solutions.
